I post this picture I took of myself at Christmas to display the quilt Grannie hand pieced in 2004 for me (it is machine quilted) and in the background is the stocking she gave me for Christmas 1984. I take pride in all of the things my Grannie has made me. That quilt is the only one I have. And it is safely put up and has never been slept under. The day I took that picture was the first time I seen it since she had given it to me on Christmas Eve 2004. My Grannie has quilted since she was 14. At ages 12, 14, & 15 I worked on a log cabin quilt top with the assistance and guidance of Ruth Ann Carathers. The top has been finished for over 10 years but I am afraid that is as far as it will go. My dream had been that my Grannie would be the one to quilt it. That is no longer possible. So I feel I will leave it be.
